Thank you to all our community partners, neighbors and staff members that attended our Open House for The Beckett Center on Wednesday evening. We are so proud to be able to offer this wonderful resource to the people of Jackson County. Here are some pictures from the event!
We are very excited about the progress being made on an up-and-coming project: The Beckett Center! Formerly referred to as the JCRC (Jackson Crisis Resolution Center), the project is being renamed to honor our late Executive Director and ColumbiaCare Founder, Bob Beckett. Bob was a champion for developing crisis centers in every community so that individuals could get the care they need during a crisis, remain close to home, and out of higher levels of care. ColumbiaCare will be the owner/operator of this 14-bed Secure Crisis Residential Treatment Facility, and the project is sponsored and supported by Jackson Care Connect, AllCare Health, Jackson County Mental Health, and Oregon Housing and Community Services. We anticipate completing construction by the end of the year and hope to welcome our first clients soon after that! Check out some of the latest project pictures of what is going to be an amazing new community resource in Jackson County.
The first thing we would like to report is that building construction is really moving along. As you can see from the photos below, the crisis center is taking physical shape and is on schedule to be completed by the end of the year. Likewise, program planning is also underway. In late June, all sponsoring partners met to discuss some of the referral, screening and admission elements and we will continue to meet with this group, as well as other community partners ongoing to share programming as it is developed. The goal is work collaboratively to ensure that the facility truly meet the needs of the community.
Ground has broken, and the foundation has been laid!
Our anticipated date of open has moved up a bit to November-December of 2018 and we'll be discussing program details at our next Community Partners Meeting scheduled for June 20th.
In the coming months, we will feature more progress photos and introductions of hired staff, etc. Thank you for checking in!
We have some progress we can see! It may look like dirt to some, but the fact that the grading process has begun means construction is just around the corner. It was such a beautiful morning at the future home of the JCRC, we thought we would share some pictures. We are still expecting to be ready to open either in very late Summer or early Fall 2018.
We continue to make "invisible" progress as we move through the project planning and permitting process. We anticipate breaking ground, and you may begin to see activity, such as moving dirt and grading the property, sometime in December as we prepare to begin construction.
We anticipate beginning construction as early as December/January, which should take somewhere between 7-8 months to complete.
Several months before opening, we will be meeting with all of our community partners on programming details. We will also hire our Facility Administrator well in advance so they can make introductions, be part of the planning process, hire and train the rest of their staff, and begin preparing for the grand opening, which we look forward to inviting the community to!
In future updates, we will be adding photos of construction progress, introduce key staff, etc. Thank you for checking in!
